Meet the Artist behind Briethe in Art

Bio
Brie Britton (b. 1997) is a contemporary painter and multidisciplinary artist based in Vancouver, Washington. Raised in Portland, Oregon, she turned to art at fourteen as a way to transform hardship into expression, finding in painting both refuge and catharsis. Her practice has since expanded into large-scale acrylic works, mixed media drawings, digital photography, and ethereal 35mm film photography with her Canon AE-1
Living with PTSD, Autism, and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (a rare connective tissue disorder causing joint instability and chronic pain) Brie adapts her process with resilience and innovation. Her work—defined by bold color, texture, and movement—explores the human psyche in its contrasts: fragility and resilience, grief and joy, solitude and connection.
Brie’s art has been featured in Portland’s celebrated First Thursday (2018), exhibited across the Pacific Northwest, and internationally recognized as a semifinalist in the tARTget Worldwide Art Competition (2025). In addition to her original works, she creates Soul Portraits, deeply personal commissions that translate stories into visual form.
Artist Statement
“I create large-format paintings, 35mm film photography, and mixed media works that channel emotion into color, texture, and movement. My art is influenced by the rhythms of life and music, translating them into visual form. I invite viewers to bring their own meaning to each piece, finding fragments of their own story within it.
In our darkest moments we often feel unseen – through my work, I hope to remind others they are not alone.”
